ICYMI: AFP-KS Joins A.G. Kobach for Swearing-in of Regulatory Sandbox Council
TOPEKA, KS – In case you missed it, Americans for Prosperity-Kansas (AFP-KS) joined Attorney General Kris Kobach on Monday for the swearing-in of members to Kansas’ new regulatory sandbox council, a groundbreaking new program that will spur innovation and risk-taking by entrepreneurs and businesses.
AFP-KS was the leading proponent for the new legislation (H.B. 2291) that established the council to waive burdensome and outdated regulations for small businesses and emerging industries working to provide new products and services. The council is housed under the attorney general’s office and includes a bipartisan group of state legislators and industry leaders from across the state.
“This program is an important gateway for businesses to operate more freely, limiting unnecessary government overreach in the process,” AFP-KS Deputy State Director Tanner Tempel said at the ceremony. “It’s critical that we prevent government from crushing new inventions or big ideas without giving them a chance to succeed.”
