Americans for Prosperity-Kansas Blasts Governor Kelly’s Veto on Regulatory Sandbox Legislation
Topeka, KS – Today, Governor Laura Kelly made a shortsighted decision to veto House Bill 2291 which would establish the Regulatory Relief Division within the Office of the Attorney General and create a regulatory sandbox program to waive or suspend rules and regulations for businesses exploring innovation.
AFP-KS State Director Elizabeth Patton issued the following statement:
“HB 2291 was a bipartisan measure, receiving support across the aisle in the Kansas House and Senate. Yet today, Governor Kelly acted unwisely to veto this commonsense legislation which would limit excessive government overreach in the way we bring jobs to the market. Instead of approving a good bill that would grow Kansas’ economy, we’re disappointed to see Governor Kelly veto Regulatory Sandboxes – putting politics over Kansans. AFP-KS will continue to work in the legislature to overturn this very misguided veto.”
