AFP-Kansas Statement on Start of Interim Tax Committee
TOPEKA, KS – Americans for Prosperity-Kansas (AFP-KS) commended the 2025 Special Committee on Taxation at the start of their interim session on Thursday, urging the members to create a more competitive tax code that rolls back exemptions that prevent the state from lowering tax rates for everyone.
Elizabeth Patton, AFP-KS state director, gave the following statement:
“We’re grateful to legislative leadership and the lawmakers on the interim tax committee for continuing their good work crafting tax policies that will help hardworking Kansans keep more of their hard-earned paychecks. This year, we urge the committee to eliminate certain tax exemptions and carve outs that distort the market so that Kansas can remain a desirable place for businesses and entrepreneurs to do business.”
